About this directory

What this directory is

Ontario Junk Removal Directory tracks 200 junk removal businesses across the province, built for homeowners, landlords, and property managers who want to compare providers without wading through scattered ads and inflated marketing claims. Every listing sits on the same rubric, so a company in Ottawa and one in Windsor get judged the same way.

We’re also honest about the other half of what this site does: we generate enquiries for local providers. When you ask to be matched with someone, we pass your request to a provider relevant to your request, and we may earn a referral fee for that match. That arrangement is disclosed on the quote page, and it never touches how a business is scored or ranked. Money for a referral and points on a scorecard come from two completely separate places.

Who publishes it

This directory is published by Ontario Junk Removal, a company that has run it since 2026. The project started because finding a junk removal contractor with real credentials and a solid track record was harder than it should have been: too many directories just sell top spots to whoever pays. Reach the publisher through the enquiry form at onjunkremoval.ca or by email at ontariodirectorypartners@gmail.com.

Where the listing data comes from

Each listing is assembled from public business records and a synthesis of recent Google reviews. We don’t republish review text, we summarize patterns in it (response time, pricing complaints, cleanup quality, that sort of thing) and link out to the business’s actual Google profile so you can read the source reviews yourself.

How rankings are earned

Rankings come out of a published rubric applied to that data, nothing else. No listing can buy or negotiate a higher position. The scoring criteria are laid out in full on our methodology page, and editorial oversight of that rubric and how it’s applied sits with Clara Larsen, our Editorial Lead.

A business that finds an error in its own listing, a wrong phone number, an old address, a service it no longer offers, can request a correction, and we’ll fix the facts. What it cannot do is edit its own score, sentiment summary, or ranking. Those stay tied to the data and the rubric, not to who’s asking.

Sponsorship, kept separate

Some listings include paid placements. Those are always labelled “Sponsored,” displayed in their own section apart from the earned rankings, and they carry zero weight in the scoring. A sponsored badge tells you a business paid for visibility, not that it ranked higher.

Keeping it current

The underlying database refreshes monthly, pulling updated review signals and business records. Each listing also carries a “last verified” stamp so you can see at a glance when it was last checked, rather than trusting a page that hasn’t been touched in years.

FAQ

Does paying for a sponsored spot improve a business's ranking?
No. Sponsored placements are labelled and shown separately from the earned rankings, and they have no effect on the score a business receives.
Can a business change its own rating?
A business can correct factual details like its address, phone number, or service list. It cannot edit its score, sentiment summary, or position in the rankings.
How often is listing information updated?
The database refreshes monthly, and each listing shows a last verified date so you can see when it was last checked.
Do you post the actual text of Google reviews?
No. We synthesize patterns from recent reviews and link to the business's Google profile so you can read the original reviews there.
